In December 2025, four members of the Refugee Advisory Board Germany (RAB Germany) participated in the Global Refugee Forum (GRF) Progress Review in Geneva (15–17 December 2025), contributing refugee perspectives to global policy discussions.
Majdi Laktinah took part as an official member of the German delegation and represented refugee voices at the highest level, including participation in the closing plenary alongside UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi.
Zohra Wandaa, Sengül Celik and Nyima Jadama were actively engaged across the programme, contributing to plenary discussions, side events and workshops focused on refugee participation, leadership and sustainable responses. Together with Refugee Advisory Boards from the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, RAB Germany co-organised and delivered a joint international session on meaningful refugee participation (see R-SPACE), marking the first time five Advisory Boards facilitated a session together at the GRF process.
In addition, RAB Germany members participated in the Refugee Leadership Funding Convening, advocating for stronger recognition of Refugee Advisory Boards as partners bridging refugee communities and policy systems.
The participation of RAB Germany at the GRF Progress Review 2025 strengthened international cooperation among Refugee Advisory Boards and reinforced the role of refugees as active contributors to global refugee policy and decision-making.
